First day of school

The first day wasn't anything like I though it would be. It was so hard to seem like I was in control. The kids have so much energy and it's so hard to keep them quiet. I don't understand how to make them just sit and listen! Sometimes it was okay, but they had so many questions! We started off the day with prayer and worship, and then we had bible. Next came Math and Palauan class where I got a break! Then we went to recess. Makani found a huge spider and started flinging it at people. I had to pretend it didn't bother me at all, even though on the inside I was freaking out! He kept it in a jar on his desk for the rest of the day. After recess was PE, handwriting, and spelling. Then came lunch. After lunch we had social studies, language arts, another recess, and science. The last 20 minutes of the day were the best! We got cleaned up early and played Simon says. It was so funny to see all the kids crowded around me following my ridiculous actions. The last one was "Simon says hug the teacher!" and I got tons of hugs that knocked me down! After school Shayne stayed and I read her a story. Then I went back up to the apartment and checked my packages. Not only did I get a package from home, but I got the one I'd been waiting since July 1 for! And we got paid today! Even though I'm still sick and totally out of energy, today went pretty well.
